1527 A Rare Case of Facial Skin Necrosis Following Subdermal Poly-L-Lactic Acid Injection

Abstract Introduction Non-surgical / minimally invasive aesthetic procedures are a growing trend in the UK. A range of devices available for soft tissue augmentation, including injectable Poly-L-Lactic acid (PLLA). PLLA is used augmentation and thought effective correction contour deficiencies, facial wrinkles restoring subcutaneous volume patients with HIV-associated lipoatrophy. Method In this case report, we present rare but serious complication subdermal injection acid. 45-year-old lady presented to our service approximately 24 hours after administration self-sourced poly-L-Lactic Results 4cm ovaloid patch full thickness skin necrosis over zygomatic region was evident on presentation, reactive/inflammatory changes adjacent skin. Cadaveric imaging studies alike demonstrate that common anatomical variant single TFA (70%), originating at level temporofacial trunk nerve. It typically has 5cm course, giving off average 1.9 cutaneous perforators. highlights importance detailed understanding anatomy ensure safe placement dermal fillers/devices.
